I don’t review books, movies, or music on this site.  But I am going to make an exception. The film, Cairo Time, is a movie worth seeing.

The story takes place in modern Cairo and was filmed there.  Patricia Clarkson plays a fifty-something woman who finds herself stranded in the city with little to do but explore a strange culture with her husband’s former security guard.

Cairo Time gives the viewer a sympathetic description of Egypt’s biggest city, complete with high points and blemishes.  Patricia Clarkson’s character rather reminds me of myself.  After all, at one time in my life I was stranded in Cairo, too.

Sans romance I was, unlike Clarkson in the story.  Ma leish, the Arabs would reply.
